How we do it
Cabling is planned before it is pulled. We walk the site, agree where every outlet, access point and camera needs to be, and work out the tidiest routes through ceilings, walls, trunking and conduit. Every run goes back to a patch panel in a cabinet, so the network can be changed later without re-cabling.
Each run is terminated, tested and labelled at both ends, and we hand over a simple record of what goes where. We work with Cat6 for most offices and homes, Cat6A where 10 Gb or high-power PoE is needed, and fibre between buildings or over long distances. We do low-voltage data cabling only - anything involving 230 V wiring goes to a registered electrician.
For businesses
For offices, warehouses, shops and clinics, structured cabling is the foundation everything else sits on. Planning it properly at a fit-out or move costs far less than adding cables one at a time later, and a labelled patch panel turns every future fault from a hunt into a quick check.
At home
At home, a single cable to the TV, home office or a ceiling access point is often the most reliable fix for streaming, video calls and gaming. In new builds, pre-wiring during construction is the cheapest time to do it.
Before we arrive
- A floor plan marked with where you want network points
- Access to ceilings and the comms cupboard
- Your builder's or electrician's contact for fit-out jobs
- Any existing cable records, however rough
What a visit looks like
When you book data & network cabling in Remuera & Newmarket, you tell us what's going on and we reply with a time that suits you and a price. Nothing starts until you're happy with both.
On the day, the technician arrives, looks at the problem in person and confirms the plan with you before starting. If something turns out different from what was expected - a part is needed, or the cause is somewhere else - we stop and agree the change with you first.
When the work is done we test it with you, show you what was changed, and leave the area tidy. For business jobs we note what we did, so there is a record for whoever looks after your IT next.
