Remote IT support for offices and homes

Software, email, printing and account problems fixed over a secure remote connection, with an onsite visit booked if needed.

Laptop and Wi-Fi router set up on a desk at home

Plenty of computer problems never needed a van at the door. A mailbox that stopped syncing, a printer that vanished from the list, a program throwing an error, a locked Microsoft 365 account - these can usually be sorted over a secure remote connection. You start the session, you watch every step on your own screen, and you can end it with one click. If the fault turns out to be hardware or cabling, we book an onsite visit instead.

From $60 + GST ($69 incl. GST) for remote help, no call-out fee

  • A session you start yourself and can end at any moment
  • Your screen visible to you the whole time we are connected
  • A short written note of what was found and changed

Signs you need remote IT support

  • One person's email or printing has stopped working but everything else is fine
  • A program shows an error message every time it opens
  • A staff member working from home cannot get into shared files
  • A Microsoft 365 account is locked, unlicensed or asking for sign-in on a loop
  • Waiting for a visit would hold up work for a problem that is probably software

How we do it

Every remote session starts with a short conversation about what is going wrong and what changed recently. We then send a link to a reputable remote support tool, which you run yourself. It shows a code, you read it to us through the booking conversation or by email, and only then can we see your screen. Nothing installs permanently, and the connection ends when you close the window. You can watch every click, ask questions as we go and stop the session if anything feels wrong.

Once connected, we confirm the fault rather than assume it. That means reproducing the error, checking logs and settings, and looking at the account or service behind it, such as the mail server or the printer queue. Once the cause is clear we fix it, explain it in plain words and check it with you on the real task, such as sending an email or printing a page. If we find a failing drive, a damaged cable or a Wi-Fi dead spot, we stop, explain what we saw and book an onsite visit with the notes already written up.

Specific remote IT support jobs

Remote IT Support for businesses

For a business, remote support means a single person's problem does not have to wait for a site visit or pull anyone off their own work. An office manager can report that the accounts person cannot print, and the fix happens on that computer while the rest of the team carries on. It also suits staff who work from home or in a branch, because the session reaches them wherever their computer is connected. When something needs hands on hardware, we come onsite.

Remote IT Support at home

At home, remote support is a simple way to sort the everyday annoyances - an email account that stopped sending, a printer that disappeared after an update, a pop-up that will not go away. You stay in your own chair, watch what we do and can ask why as we go. We take our time explaining, never hurry you through passwords, and if the trouble turns out to be the hardware itself, we arrange a visit to your home instead.

Before we arrive

To make the visit quick, it helps to have these ready:

  • Be at the computer at the start of the session with it switched on and connected to the internet
  • Any error message written down or captured as a screenshot
  • Your Microsoft 365 or email sign-in details, if the problem involves an account
  • A note of anything that changed just before the problem started, such as an update or a new device

What a visit looks like

When you book remote IT support, you tell us what's going on and we reply with a time that suits you and a price. Nothing starts until you're happy with both.

On the day, the technician arrives, looks at the problem in person and confirms the plan with you before starting. If something turns out different from what was expected - a part is needed, or the cause is somewhere else - we stop and agree the change with you first.

When the work is done we test it with you, show you what was changed, and leave the area tidy. For business jobs we note what we did, so there is a record for whoever looks after your IT next.

Larger jobs - a new network, a run of cabling, a server or a camera system - get a free quote before any work starts, so you know the cost up front. Parts and equipment are quoted and agreed before we order them.

There is no contract, no monthly fee and no membership. You book the job you need and pay for that job.

Remote IT Support: common questions

Is it safe to let someone connect to my computer?

It is safe when you know who is connecting and you start the session yourself. We send you a link through the booking, you run it, and a code connects us. You see everything we do and can close the connection at any point. We never ask you to install anything we cannot explain.

What can't be fixed remotely?

Anything physical - a computer that will not turn on, a damaged screen, a failed drive, a network cable or Wi-Fi coverage problem. If the computer cannot reach the internet, we cannot connect to it either. In those cases we book an onsite visit and pass on what we already learned.

Do I need to stay at the computer during the session?

It helps to be there at the start so we can confirm the problem with you and ask for any passwords. After that many people carry on with other work while we fix things, and we let you know when it is ready to test.

Can you help a staff member who works from home?

Yes. Remote support suits staff working from home well, because the fix happens on the computer they actually use. We can sort email, VPN connections, printing to a home printer and Microsoft 365 issues without anyone travelling to the office.
