Business IT
After-hours onsite IT work
Disruptive IT work done while your staff are away.
Some jobs cannot happen while the office is full. Swapping a firewall, moving a server, re-patching a comms cabinet or upgrading every workstation means downtime, and downtime during trading hours costs sales and patience. We plan the work with you, agree a window outside your trading hours, do the job on site and test it so staff walk back into a working office. Ask about availability when you book.
- A written plan and rollback step agreed before the night
- Key systems tested before we leave
- A short handover note of what changed
Signs you need after-hours onsite IT
- A firewall or router swap would knock everyone offline during the day
- The server needs a restart or upgrade that nobody can afford to wait through
- Your comms cabinet needs re-patching but every port is in use
- You are changing internet providers and cannot lose a day of trading
- Previous changes made during work hours caused a morning of disruption
How we do it
After-hours work is only as good as the plan behind it. Before the night, we visit or talk through the job, list every system it touches, and agree what working looks like in the morning - email flowing, files opening, card terminals taking payments. We confirm access, alarm codes and admin logins in advance, and agree a rollback step so the old setup can be put back if the change cannot be completed safely.
On the night we follow the plan, record each change as it happens and test from a staff point of view, not just from the server. Before we leave we sign in to a workstation, print a page, send an email and check the internet and phones. A short note goes to your contact explaining what changed, what we tested and anything staff might notice when they arrive.

After-hours Onsite IT for businesses
For businesses, after-hours work suits any change where an hour of downtime would hurt: retailers who trade right through the week, clinics with full appointment books, offices on tight client deadlines. It also suits shared buildings where cabling through corridors is easier with no one around. We agree the window when you book and plan the work so the morning starts as normal.
Before we arrive
To make the visit quick, it helps to have these ready:
- Building access, keys and alarm codes arranged with management
- Admin logins for the systems being changed
- A contact who can answer questions on the night
- A list of systems that must be working first thing
What a visit looks like
When you book after-hours onsite IT, you tell us what's going on and we reply with a time that suits you and a price. Nothing starts until you're happy with both.
On the day, the technician arrives, looks at the problem in person and confirms the plan with you before starting. If something turns out different from what was expected - a part is needed, or the cause is somewhere else - we stop and agree the change with you first.
When the work is done we test it with you, show you what was changed, and leave the area tidy. For business jobs we note what we did, so there is a record for whoever looks after your IT next.
Pricing
Each after-hours onsite IT job is priced before work starts. The price depends on what's involved - the size of the site, the equipment, and whether parts are needed - so the quickest way to a number is to tell us about the job on the booking form.
There is no contract and no monthly fee. You book the job you need and pay for that job.
After-hours Onsite IT: common questions
When can after-hours work be done?
Evenings and weekends can usually be arranged. We agree the window with you when you book, based on the job, your building access and when your staff need everything running again.
Does someone from our team need to be there?
Not always. We need building access, alarm codes and admin logins arranged beforehand, plus a contact we can reach if a decision is needed. Many clients leave a key with building management.
What if something goes wrong overnight?
Every after-hours job has a rollback step agreed in advance, such as keeping the old router ready to plug back in. If the change cannot be finished safely, we put things back as they were.
