Moving one to a new computer without a plan can leave the old copy still holding the licence, or open an outdated copy of the data file by mistake, which is easy to miss until the figures stop adding up.

Then we install the same or newer version on the new machine using the publisher's own installer, release and reactivate the licence the way the publisher requires, and reconnect the data file. Before we finish, the accounts person opens it, checks recent transactions and confirms printing and any bank feeds still work.

What happens to the licence on the old computer?
Most accounting programs need the old installation released or deactivated before the new one will activate. We follow the publisher's steps so you are not paying for a second licence, and only remove the software from the old computer once the new one is working.
Is cloud accounting software any different?
Cloud accounting runs in a browser, so there is usually nothing to install. We can still help by setting up the browser, saved sign-ins, multi-factor sign-in and any companion programs such as payroll or bank-feed tools on the new computer.
