Starlink Installation
Starlink for caravans, motorhomes and boats, on site
We want Starlink in our caravan, motorhome or boat and need help with mounting, cabling and power.

We want Starlink in our caravan, motorhome or boat and need help with mounting, cabling and power.
Starlink on a caravan, motorhome or boat needs a mount that suits how you travel. Some people use a portable stand set up at each stop, others prefer a fixed roof or rail mount that stays in place. We look at the roof, rails and fittings, the clearance from aerials, solar panels and air conditioning units, and the route the cable will take inside. Cable entry is sealed properly so it does not let water in, and the cable is secured so it does not chafe.
What the technician does
- Choose a mount and a sensible path for the cable into the vehicle or vessel
- Set out 12 V power options and router placement
- Set up the router and Wi-Fi and show you how to use it on the road
Check your Starlink plan allows roaming or use in motion before relying on it while travelling.
About Starlink for caravans, motorhomes and boats
Power is the other key decision. Starlink can run from an inverter or, with the right kit, from the vehicle or vessel's 12 V system, and we explain the general options and what they mean for your batteries. Any change to 230 V wiring or a new mains outlet is a job for a registered electrician. We then place the router where Wi-Fi reaches the living area, set up the network name and password, and show you how to stow and set up the dish.
What usually causes it
- Travelling to campsites without reliable mobile coverage
- Working remotely from a caravan or motorhome
- Wanting connectivity on a boat at anchor or on the move
- A portable kit that is awkward to set up at every stop
Before we arrive
- Your Starlink kit and account login
- Access to the roof or the area where the dish will go
- A list of the buildings that need Wi-Fi
- Where the router should live
What a visit looks like
When you book Starlink for caravans, motorhomes and boats, you tell us what's going on and we reply with a time that suits you and a price. Nothing starts until you're happy with both.
On the day, the technician arrives, looks at the problem in person and confirms the plan with you before starting. If something turns out different from what was expected - a part is needed, or the cause is somewhere else - we stop and agree the change with you first.
When the work is done we test it with you, show you what was changed, and leave the area tidy. For business jobs we note what we did, so there is a record for whoever looks after your IT next.
