A laptop that is simply reset can still carry links to your business. Devices enrolled in Microsoft Intune, Autopilot or Apple device management often lock the next owner out until they are released from your account. We remove those links first, sign out of cloud accounts and turn off any firmware passwords so the machine is genuinely free for its next owner. BIOS passwords are cleared where we can.

The drive is then overwritten end to end with wiping software rather than formatted, which leaves nothing recoverable with ordinary tools. A clean copy of Windows or macOS is installed so the laptop starts like new. Each machine's make, model and serial number is added to a list along with the date and method used to wipe it. Chargers and docks are bundled with each machine where available.

Not after a full overwrite. Unlike a quick format, every part of the drive is overwritten, so standard recovery tools find nothing. Drives that will not complete a wipe are removed and destroyed instead.
Do the laptops need a Windows licence afterwards?
Most business laptops have a licence built into the firmware and reactivate on their own after a clean install. We check activation before handing the machines over.
