New Build & Fit-out Cabling

Cabling removal at the end of a lease, on site

We are moving out and the landlord wants old data cabling removed.

We are moving out and the landlord wants old data cabling removed.

Make-good clauses often require tenants to remove their fit-out, and data cabling is part of that. Old cables abandoned in ceilings also create a fire load and make life harder for the next installer. Before anything comes out, we confirm with you and the landlord which cables are yours, which serve the base building and which the next tenant may want to keep.

What the technician does

  1. Identify which cabling belongs to you and what must stay
  2. Remove redundant cables, outlets and equipment safely
  3. Patch the faceplate holes as agreed and record what was left

Check the lease's make-good clause - some landlords want cabling left in place for the next tenant.

About cabling removal at the end of a lease

We remove redundant cables from ceilings and walls, take out patch panels and cabinets that belong to you, and blank off outlet holes. Building infrastructure such as fire alarm, security and base building data is left untouched. We give you a short record of what was removed and what was left, which is useful when the landlord inspects. Removal can be timed around the other make-good trades.

What usually causes it

  • Lease make-good obligations
  • Landlord preparing the space for a new tenant
  • Ceiling space filled with abandoned cable from past tenants
  • Moving equipment and cabinets to a new office

  • A list of rooms where screens, desks, cameras or access points will go

What a visit looks like

When you book cabling removal at the end of a lease, you tell us what's going on and we reply with a time that suits you and a price. Nothing starts until you're happy with both.

On the day, the technician arrives, looks at the problem in person and confirms the plan with you before starting. If something turns out different from what was expected - a part is needed, or the cause is somewhere else - we stop and agree the change with you first.

When the work is done we test it with you, show you what was changed, and leave the area tidy. For business jobs we note what we did, so there is a record for whoever looks after your IT next.
