CCTV & Security Cameras
CCTV upgrade, on site
Old analogue cameras with grainy footage.
Old analogue cameras with grainy footage. It's a job we do on site across Auckland and Hamilton, as part of our CCTV & security cameras work.
What the technician does
- Check what cabling can be reused
- Replace cameras and recorder with modern ones
- Set up the app and retention
Existing cable can sometimes be reused, saving work.
When to book this
People usually book CCTV upgrade when one of these sounds familiar:
- You want to see who comes and goes from the driveway, door or yard
- An old camera system records grainy footage nobody can use
- The recorder or phone app has stopped working
- A shop, office or warehouse has blind spots
How we approach it
We start by agreeing what you need to see: faces at the door, plates at the gate, the till, the loading bay or the whole yard. Camera choice and position follow from that - field of view, distance, lighting at night and where the cable can run. We prefer wired cameras where cables can reach, because they are more reliable than Wi-Fi cameras and need no batteries.
Cameras are mounted neatly, cables run tidily and weatherproofed, and the recorder is set up with enough storage for the footage you want to keep. We set up the phone app for you and anyone else who needs it, change every default password, and check the picture day and night before we finish.
Before we arrive
- A list of the areas you want covered
- Your Wi-Fi details, so the recorder can reach the internet
- The phones that need the viewing app
- Access to the roof space or ceiling where cables will run
For businesses
For businesses, cameras protect stock, staff and premises. We cover entrances, tills, stock areas, car parks and loading bays, set up access for the right people and keep camera traffic on its own network away from staff computers.
At home
At home, a few well-placed cameras on the driveway, front door and back yard - plus a video doorbell - cover most needs. Everything is viewable from your phone.
What a visit looks like
When you book CCTV upgrade, you tell us what's going on and we reply with a time that suits you and a price. Nothing starts until you're happy with both.
On the day, the technician arrives, looks at the problem in person and confirms the plan with you before starting. If something turns out different from what was expected - a part is needed, or the cause is somewhere else - we stop and agree the change with you first.
When the work is done we test it with you, show you what was changed, and leave the area tidy. For business jobs we note what we did, so there is a record for whoever looks after your IT next.
Pricing
Every CCTV upgrade job is priced before work starts. The price depends on what's involved - the size of the site, the equipment, and whether parts are needed - so the quickest way to a number is to tell us about the job on the booking form.
There is no contract and no monthly fee. You book the job you need and pay for that job.
