Warehouse and yard cameras, on site
Large outdoor areas, gates and loading bays need watching.
Large outdoor areas, gates and loading bays need watching.
Yard and warehouse cameras face distances and lighting that home cameras cannot handle. We look at how far each camera needs to see, what light is available after dark, and where wind, rain and forklifts are a factor. Varifocal bullets with strong infrared or starlight sensors suit long fence lines, while a PTZ camera can cover a big yard from a single high point if someone will actually use it.
What the technician does
- Choose cameras for distance and low light
- Mount on walls or poles with weatherproof cabling
- Set up recording and remote viewing
Number-plate capture needs specific cameras and positions - tell us if you need it.
About warehouse and yard cameras
Mounting is the other big decision: building walls, existing light poles or new poles, each with weatherproof conduit and outdoor-rated cable. Runs longer than 90 metres need a PoE extender, a switch in an outdoor cabinet or fibre to a remote pole. Recording is sized for the number of cameras and retention period, with remote viewing set up so managers can check the gate after hours.
What usually causes it
- Theft of materials or fuel from yards
- Disputes over damage at loading bays
- Large gates and fences out of sight of staff
- Insurance requirements for stock storage
- Trucks arriving after hours needing verification
Before we arrive
- A list of the areas you want covered
- Your Wi-Fi details, so the recorder can reach the internet
- The phones that need the viewing app
- Access to the roof space or ceiling where cables will run
What a visit looks like
When you book warehouse and yard cameras, you tell us what's going on and we reply with a time that suits you and a price. Nothing starts until you're happy with both.
On the day, the technician arrives, looks at the problem in person and confirms the plan with you before starting. If something turns out different from what was expected - a part is needed, or the cause is somewhere else - we stop and agree the change with you first.
When the work is done we test it with you, show you what was changed, and leave the area tidy. For business jobs we note what we did, so there is a record for whoever looks after your IT next.
Pricing
Each warehouse and yard cameras job is priced before work starts. The price depends on what's involved - the size of the site, the equipment, and whether parts are needed - so the quickest way to a number is to tell us about the job on the booking form.
There is no contract and no monthly fee. You book the job you need and pay for that job.
Warehouse and yard cameras: questions
Can cameras read number plates at our gate?
Yes, but it needs a dedicated camera set up for a narrow area where vehicles slow down, with the right shutter and lighting settings. A general overview camera will not reliably capture plates.
What about cameras far from the building?
Long runs can use PoE extenders, an outdoor switch or fibre between buildings. Where a pole needs new power, a registered electrician handles that part.
Do you do warehouse and yard cameras on site?
Yes. We come to businesses and homes across Auckland and Hamilton and do the work where the equipment is.
How much does warehouse and yard cameras cost?
It depends on what's involved. Tell us about the job on the form and we'll confirm the price before any work starts.
