Shop window display screen, on site

We want a screen in the shop window that people can actually see from the street in daylight.

We want a screen in the shop window that people can actually see from the street in daylight.

Window displays face a harder job than indoor screens: direct sunlight, reflections on the glass and heat build-up in summer. An ordinary screen looks almost blank from the footpath on a bright day. We recommend high-brightness displays designed for windows and check the mounting position for glare, heat and how passers-by approach the shop. Glass reflections are tested on site.

What the technician does

  1. Choose a high-brightness display suited to window use
  2. Mount it facing out with cabling hidden
  3. Set up content and a schedule matching trading hours

Standard TVs look washed out behind glass in sunlight - window displays need high brightness.

About shop window display screen

The screen is mounted on a ceiling or floor-stand fitting facing the street, with cables run neatly so the back is tidy for customers inside. We set up the player and content, schedule the screen to run during trading and into the evening if you want, and show staff how to swap promotions as stock and seasons change. Spare cabling is tidied away.

What usually causes it

  • Printed window posters fade and go out of date
  • The shop wants to show changing promotions
  • Passing foot traffic is high and the window is underused
  • A shop fit-out includes a digital window

What a visit looks like

When you book shop window display screen, you tell us what's going on and we reply with a time that suits you and a price. Nothing starts until you're happy with both.

On the day, the technician arrives, looks at the problem in person and confirms the plan with you before starting. If something turns out different from what was expected - a part is needed, or the cause is somewhere else - we stop and agree the change with you first.

When the work is done we test it with you, show you what was changed, and leave the area tidy. For business jobs we note what we did, so there is a record for whoever looks after your IT next.
