IT for real estate offices

Onsite IT for real estate agencies: fast Wi-Fi, reliable printing, signage screens and secure devices for agents on the move.

Office team working at desktop computers and laptops in a bright office

A real estate office is part shopfront, part open-plan sales floor. Agents are in and out all day, printing contracts and marketing material, presenting appraisals on big screens and relying on mobile devices and a stable internet connection to keep deals moving. When the printer jams before an open home or the Wi-Fi drops during a vendor meeting, it shows. Offices that have grown by adding desks and agents often end up with a patchwork of equipment and no clear owner. We come onsite to sort it out and leave the setup documented and simple to look after.

IT problems real estate offices run into

  • Wi-Fi drops or slows when many agents and visitors connect at once on the sales floor.
  • Printers and scanners are relied on for contracts and flyers, and they fail at the worst moments.
  • Window displays and listing screens are controlled by a spare laptop that nobody wants to touch.
  • New agents arrive and leave often, so accounts, devices and access rights are hard to keep tidy.
  • Client documents and signed agreements are stored in several places, with no dependable backup.

What a good setup looks like

The first priority is a network that copes with the way a sales office is used. Agents roam between desks, meeting rooms and the front counter, so we install enough access points, placed properly, with a separate guest network for walk-in visitors. A business firewall and a managed switch sit behind it, and cabling to desks, printers and screens is labelled and tidy. When a new agent joins or the layout changes, the network does not need to be rebuilt.

Devices and printing are next. We standardise how laptops and desktops are configured, so a new starter can be given a ready machine with email, the office software and printers already installed. Multifunction printers are set up for contracts, flyers and scanning to a shared folder or email. Where agents use their own devices for email, we set sensible sign-in protection so a lost device does not mean exposed client details.

Finally we handle the things customers see. Window screens and in-office displays are set up on proper media players or signage software, so listings update without anyone plugging in a laptop. Documents are stored in a shared system with permissions that suit the team, and backups run to a second location. A short handover note covers logins, device lists and who to contact, which helps when an office manager changes.

A quick IT checklist

Run through these yourself. Anything you can't tick is a good place to start:

  • Can an agent print a contract in seconds, from any desk?
  • Is there a guest network that keeps visitors away from office files?
  • Do window and display screens update without anyone carrying a laptop in?
  • When an agent leaves, do you know every account and device to close off?
  • Are signed documents stored in one place that is backed up?
  • Does the office keep working if the internet connection drops?

What a visit looks like

When you book a business job, you tell us what's going on and we reply with a time that suits you and a price. Nothing starts until you're happy with both.

On the day, the technician arrives, looks at the problem in person and confirms the plan with you before starting. If something turns out different from what was expected - a part is needed, or the cause is somewhere else - we stop and agree the change with you first.

When the work is done we test it with you, show you what was changed, and leave the area tidy. For business jobs we note what we did, so there is a record for whoever looks after your IT next.

Pricing

Each business job is priced before work starts. The price depends on what's involved - the size of the site, the equipment, and whether parts are needed - so the quickest way to a number is to tell us about the job on the booking form.

There is no contract and no monthly fee. You book the job you need and pay for that job.

IT for real estate offices: questions

Can you work around open homes and busy auction periods?

Yes. Jobs are booked as one-offs, so we agree a time that suits your calendar. Disruptive work, like moving the network or replacing printers, is planned for a quiet part of your schedule.

Do you set up the screens in our shop window?

Yes. We install the displays, mounts, cabling and media player or signage software, then show your team how to update listings. We can also tidy the wiring so the window looks clean from the street.

Our agents use their own phones and laptops. Is that a problem?

It can be a risk if there is no protection. We cannot set up or repair phones, but we can secure office accounts with multi-factor sign-in, set up separate Wi-Fi for personal devices and configure office laptops properly.

We have several branches. Can you set them up consistently?

Yes. We use the same layout, naming and device configuration at each branch, then document it. That makes it easier to support, and a new branch can be copied from the pattern rather than designed from scratch.
